Apex Makes Three New Senior Appointments

Luxembourg, July 1, 2020 — Apex Group Ltd. (“Apex”), a global financial services provider, announces today that it has made three new senior appointments in Luxembourg hiring a Luxembourg COO, Head of Real Estate and locally based Global Head of Onboarding.

The Group has appointed Frederic Bilas as COO – Luxembourg following a decade as Director of Operations at European Fund Administration (“EFA”). Bilas will report directly to Group COO, Chris Mulhern, and has over 20 years’ experience in Investment funds, asset servicing and banking in Luxembourg. His broad range of skillsets position him perfectly to lead the expansive operation Apex runs in Luxembourg delivering the full suite of services across its single-source solution – from fund services to digital banking and onboarding, depositary, custody FX, corporate services and Super Manco solutions.

In addition to Bilas leading local operations across all business segments, Ramón van Heusden also joins the Luxembourg team as Head of Real Estate. This appointment quickly follows the Group’s announcement last week of the appointment of Michael Sheahan as Global Head of Real Estate and further reinforces its intent to dominate not only the Real Estate space globally but also the Luxembourg fund servicing space (Watch the video). Van Heusden will report to Sheahan and brings an outstanding track-record of over 30 years’ experience, most recently as Senior Director of Relationship Management PERE at TMF Group. Van Heusden has a strong career history in the fund services space having held long-term senior roles at Citco and Brown Brothers Harriman; the latter at which he created and developed its Luxembourg-based real estate fund servicing arm developing a client base of over 100 funds and $40bn in AuA.

The Group also announces the appointment of Kris Allen as Global Head of Client Onboarding. Allen joined Apex at the beginning of 2019 as part of the Ipes acquisition, where he had been for 6 years, becoming Head of Client Onboarding for Luxembourg in March this year. Transitioning to a Global role, he will now manage the global evolution of the Group’s onboarding processes with a focus on a seamless client experience across all three pillars of service; fund solutions, financial solutions and corporate solutions. This announcement comes just three months after the Group launched its digital banking and onboarding platform which delivers a pioneering new way for asset managers to open bank accounts and benefit from a totally paperless onboarding experience: Watch the video. Allen brings a decade’s worth of client relationships management and onboarding experience to the role and will report to Srikumar T.E., Global Head of Fund Solutions.

These three simultaneous senior hires in Luxembourg bolster the Group’s Operational, Real Estate, and Client Servicing strength, reinforcing the connected structure around its single-source servicing solution.
