Although this is an unprecedented time, things will eventually normalize and managers will return to their capital raising activities. There are still a large number of managers in the US, Canada and Latin America that are not proactively marketing to EU-based investors because of the complex requirements of AIFMD. This does not need to be an insurmountable obstacle to mutually beneficial conversations with European investors.
