The role and key responsibilities:

The fast-growing ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) team is looking for a new hire to target new business, coordinate public outreach and enhance client relationships, in order to affect positive change for the environment and society.

  • Identify and help win new business globally, targeting both new ESG launches and existing managers;
  • Work directly on mandates with some of the most significant and innovative investment managers in the world;
  • Oversee and deliver logistical and organisational aspects of the department.
  • Develop a strong pipeline of potential clients, focusing on profitable new revenue;
  • Cross-sell coordination of ESG products with Apex clients;
  • Ensure all aspects of stakeholder and partner engagement are coordinated, aligned and efficient;
  • Coordinate ESG products, developments and campaigns with relevant ESG champions;
  • Support senior ESG team members with large mandates;
  • Build relationships with key intermediaries such as law firms, placement agents and consultants who can introduce suitable clients to Apex;
  • Attend relevant conferences and events when required;
  • Build and respond to requests for proposals (RFPs) and issuing proposals to new clients.

  • Strong values, passion and positivity for targeting positive change in investors and the companies;
  • 1+ years’ experience in the ESG or private equity industry and/or business development is preferable but not a necessity;
  • Educated to a minimum of undergraduate level; a graduate degree preferable.
  • Knowledge of the market, technology and/or operations within the ESG and/or private equity industry;
  • Ability to work hard and work smart, to be resilient, to be time efficient;
  • Proactive and open-minded, with an ability to problem-solve;
  • Highly organised, strong processes, with exceptional attention to detail;
  • Strong networker, willingness to network at events if required;
  • Ability to communicate and influence with excellent interpersonal skills, video conference manner, and a high level written and presentation skills;
  • Highly proficient in MS Office and CRM tools;
  • Language skills beyond English would be an advantage but not necessary;
  • To enjoy working as a team and to have fun!
