We are looking for a highly motivated individual to lead Business Partnering for the Corporate Solutions Segment, one of the 3 business segments of the Apex Group. Reporting into the FP&A Function, the role will also have a strong dotted line reporting into the Global Head of Corporate Solutions.

Corporate Solutions service delivery includes Capital Markets, Corporate Services, Private Client and Family Office, Business Services (Throgmorton) and ESG Services. The segment has grown significantly both organically and inorganically and is expected to continue to grow in the coming years.

Given the significant growth over the past years, the key focus has been on establishing controls and procedures over financial reporting and planning. FP&A now needs to deliver on the “A” and the Corporate Solutions Business Partner is key to set up and establish the analytics and full reporting and review over KPIs. This role is a good opportunity for a self-starter to help shape the way that the business is run as well as be involved in key strategic discussions impacting business performance.

Build executive presence and daily interaction with senior stakeholders. Stakeholders include:

  • Segment Head of Corporate Solutions
  • Regional Business Heads / COO’s / Finance Leads
  • Group CEO, Group CFO, Group COO

Produce Monthly Segment Results covering:

  • Board pages including key messages and ensuring that these are in line with the Head of Corporate Solutions
  • Organic Growth, Proforma EBITDA and EBITDA Margin, KPIs
  • Benchmarking to peers

Produce Monthly Revenue and Cost Analytics to drive segmental performance with the business heads, including:

  • Country by Country Revenue Monitoring, including Revenue Run Rate Walks and Reconciliations and understanding components of fixed vs variable revenue
  • Client profitability analysis / cohort analysis
  • IT Segmental Costs and IT Disbursement Revenue margin tracking
  • People Cost reviews, incorporating CSL Efficiency scores and monitoring of role relocation initiatives

Lead monthly Segment Business Reviews:

  • Drive monthly segment business closing with Finance and Commercial teams, esp. around Revenue
  • Provide an early view (Flash) of Segment results
  • Deliver variance analysis (CM vs PM/PY/Plan/FC)

Run the Segment Annual Plan and Quarterly Forecast Process and Reviews:

  • Lead the Segment Strategic Plan process which is basis for setting targets for the annual plan
  • Lead the quarterly forecasting process and provide suggestions for getting back to plan on any plan misses

Ad Hoc:

  • Develop and assist with rolling out Management Reporting packs
  • Board, Lender, CEO and CFO queries
  • Feedback to controllers where day to day accounting does not meet group accounting policies
  • Assist in Audit queries
  • Qualified CA / CPA
  • Demonstrable success in delivering standardisation, reporting suites and analytics
  • Good communication and writing skills to support commentary for senior executives
  • Demonstrable Project Management Skills / Transformation Projects
  • Knowledge of Prophix (group management reporting system) an added advantage
  • Knowledge of Financial Force (group ERP system) an added advantage
  • Attention to details
  • Minimum 10 years Post Qualification experience
  • Have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while delivering to a high standard
  • Demonstrable Team Player in a Global Team
  • Build excellent working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders;
  • Motivate and empower team members by building their capabilities;
  • Ensure reporting deliverables are produced and reviewed to a high standard and delivered in a timely manner;
