Due to the growth of our business, we are looking for highly motivated and ambitious individual to join our team in Budapest. 

Summary of role:
Provide VAT compliance support to clients for the VAT team by working with colleagues across Throgmorton and liaising with HMRC. Reports to Head of VAT at Throgmorton.
Job Specification

  • Preparation and/or review of VAT registrations, VAT returns, VAT refund claims;
  • Participate in the preparation, handling and/or supervision of HMRC VAT inspections/enquiries etc.
  • Support VAT compliance and advisory services to clients
  • Assist wider Throgmorton teams on VAT issues
  • Participate in VAT initiatives to improve training and compliance 
  • Preferably HMRC trained and/or ATT or CTA qualified but can also be qualified by experience;
  • Experience of VAT compliance processes including dealing directly with HMRC on registrations and returns;
  • Ability to understand commercial situations and apply VAT law;
  • Good team player with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Proficient at using Word, Excel and Powerpoint;
  • Excellent English – verbal and written.

  • Exposure to clients, HMRC and other areas of Throgmorton (Tax, Accounting, HR etc) on a day to day basis which provides a range of experiences and challenges.
