Apex Group Ltd. (“Apex”), the global financial services provider, today announced the creation of a Shadow Executive Committee (Shadow ExCo). This new committee is made up of non-executive high achievers with diverse backgrounds and a global footprint. The Shadow ExCo is equally balanced between male and female directors across a broad range of geographies.

The creation of this committee demonstrates Apex’s commitment to leveraging a diverse school of thought and involving talent from the Group’s comprehensive pool of geographies, ethnicities and cross-gender. The Shadow ExCo has been formed to challenge and inspire the c-suite by enhancing strategy with increased diversity of thought and fresh dynamism. Apex is confident that this new governance initiative will generate benefits for both clients and the firm.

The committee will be supported by an internal mentorship program. Each Shadow ExCo member will be paired with a member of the Executive Committee, enabling the Shadow ExCo to gain first-hand experience of management, while also serving as reverse mentors to the ExCo providing new perspectives and hands on experience.

Peter Hughes, Founder and CEO, Apex Group Ltd.

“We have an excellent pool of talent across the Apex Group and are passionate about ensuring we reward and encourage high performers. The appointment of the Shadow ExCo will enable us to leverage insights from different generations and geographies to diversify the perspectives that we as executives are exposed to, and increase diversity at the most senior level of our organisation. The group selected for the Shadow ExCo are representative of the highly ambitious and hardworking individuals we are proud to employ and their appointment to the committee is indicative of Apex’s commitment to our mission; to never become complacent and to strive every day to be a better business. We look forward to the fresh perspectives they will bring to the table and to working together to drive our business forward”.
