The Role:

The Information Security Analyst role is responsible for the Apex Group information security, tactical and operational activities, and for ensuring the Apex Group is compliant with policies and standards regarding the security of information assets. The ISA is directly responsible to the Apex Group CISO for this purpose and must be able to execute the responsibilities in an effective and independent manner.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for ensuring the implementation, enhancement, monitoring and enforcement of the information security policy framework;
  • Maintaining and enforcing group-wide information security policies, standards, and control techniques to provide input and direction for the IS team whilst implementing the requirements of the IS strategy;
  • Investigation of reported information security breaches, and ensuring incident management processes are documented and followed;
  • Evaluating incidents in conjunction with the IRT and recommending appropriate actions in response to identified risks;
  • Performing IT security risk and security maturity assessments;
  • Tracking latest IT security innovations and keeping abreast of latest security technologies;
  • Assisting management and other key stakeholders with understanding and implementing information security responsibilities;
  • Promoting information security education, training and awareness throughout The Apex Group especially for new employees and IS team members;
  • Identifying significant threat changes and exposures to threats of assets associated with information security and assisting in remediation efforts;
  • Coordinating with independent auditors, audit coordinators and regulators to manage audits and audit responses;
  • Liaise with the Local information security officers on each site, contribute to the monthly information security officers communications;
  • Manage information security providers, including directing and managing deliverables such as annual security testing, vendor audits, and vendor assessments.

 

Experience and Knowledge:

  • 2+ years working in an Administration role with Information Security responsibilities;
  • Experience in cloud based environments;
  • A current information security certifications [SANS, ISACA, ISC2], SSCP ISO 27001 Auditor or equivalents would be preferable;
  • Cloud Security Certification would also be an advantage: CSA, AWS, Azure;
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-moving IT landscape and keep pace with latest thinking and new security technologies;
  • Excellent communication skills [English] – providing verbal and written communication that is outstanding to both Managers and Group Teams;
  • Multi-tasking – can manage several concurrent incidents and prioritise demands;
  • College based education desired, preferably in a computing science or related discipline;
  • Experience and or certification in other control frameworks such as ITIL and COBIT would be an advantage;
  • Experience in a financial services environment and an understanding of implementing Information security in a regulated industry would be an advantage.

Certain Security Certifications will be required within an agreed timeframe for successful candidates for regulatory compliance.
