Throgmorton UK Limited, (part of the Apex Group), are looking for a highly experienced accountant to join their London based team. Throgmorton provide accountancy services, (not audit) to over 500 clients, ranging from small owner managed businesses all the way through to FTSE Group’s, across a wide variety of different industries but with specialisms in financial services and the natural resources industries.

We are looking for an experienced accountant to join the growing London team as a Manager, to undertake and manage both ongoing client work and one off project work, as well as to assist with the future growth and development of the business.

Job Specification:

The successful applicant will assist in the management of one of our small internal teams, consisting of staff ranging from trainee accountants through to qualified professionals and will be expected to help ensure that all work undertaken by staff is of the highest quality. You will be expected to both undertake more challenging technical work yourself as well as managing and reviewing the work of more junior staff members, (newly qualified and trainees).

As well as client work, you will also be expected to help the Senior Management team with the administrative side of running the business and also our business development team in helping to introduce new clients to the firm and develop our relationships with existing clients.

From a technical perspective, you may find yourself undertaking or leading recurring work and one off projects in the following areas,

  • Management accounting;
  • Statutory reporting;
  • Managing the audit process for your clients;
  • Technical accounting advisory;
  • Systems and controls advisory;
  • Financial modelling and valuations; and
  • IPO advisory

  • Either an ACA or ACCA qualification with at least 2 – 3 years post qualification experience;
  • Significant working experience of both UK GAAP and IFRS;
  • Extensive technical accounting knowledge;
  • Collaboration skills and evidence of working well within a team environment;
  • Managing projects and coaching junior staff, providing constructive and timely feedback;
  • Have an interest in business development and a desire to help the business grow
