Role & Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will have an extensive proven track-record of successfully leading large-scale, complex change delivery programmes, leading multi-discipline project teams through all phases of the E2E project lifecycle in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • The Integration Programme Director is responsible for the organisation, planning and E2E delivery of large scale, complex change initiatives or programmes.
  • Reporting into the Global Head of Integration, this role will typically lead one or more significant change programmes in parallel, driving delivery of the Apex Group’s broad and ambitious strategic change agenda at pace, whilst maintaining effective governance and control.
  • A senior leader, this role will partner directly with C-Suite stakeholders to define, structure, prioritize and deliver their global transformation roadmap.
  • As well as delivering complex programmes themselves, this role will also line manage, lead and develop other members of the Integrations team, with responsibility for overseeing and enabling their book of work.
  • The scope of projects will vary widely, depending on both strategic group change pipeline and individual candidate experience, and is likely to include:
  • Integration of significant external M&A acquisitions
  • Deployment of / migration to new technology solutions
  • Re-organisation / optimisation of Group Operating model
  • Development and launch of new products and services
  • Automation / E2E process optimization
  • Regulatory change


  • Exceptional planning and organisation skills
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience leading complex projects and programmes
  • Proven, in-depth experience of (preferably multiple) change management disciplines and methodologies, such as Prince II, Six Sigma, Agile, PMP.
  • High quality threshold
  • Confident and capable in dealing with abstract, loosely defined or competing objectives – able to bring clarity, structure and an execution focus to cut through uncertainty and drive positive momentum.
  • High energy, inquisitive and engaged
  • Strong line management skills – passionate about performance and developing talent
  • Self-motivated, proactive, resilient and resourceful
  • Proven leadership skills – organising, motivating and leading diverse and distributed teams
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, both verbal and written in English (additional languages are a bonus).
  • Confident and credible partnering with stakeholders and sponsors to C-Suite level and driving broader business engagement in change
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiations skills


  • Direct experience of external mergers and acquisitions (separation / integration management)
  • Strong background in financial services – fund administration, banking, custody, depositary, ManCo, Corporate Services
  • Experience of leading projects and programmes spanning across multiple jurisdictions and business disciplines
  • Creative - aptitude for diagnosing problems/issues and proposing solutions in a deadline driven environment.
  • Experience in delivering Technology change
  • Experience with outsourcing (process and governance framework)
  • Experience with vendor management

Programme Management

  • Partner with C-Suite level business leaders to structure their business strategy into a clearly articulated and achievable change delivery roadmap.
  • Partner with senior business leaders to prioritize their change pipeline, define and agree delivery scope, requirements, design and key success criteria for all projects.
  • Mobilize project delivery organization – establish governance framework and workstream structure, define roles, secure stakeholder buy-in and resource commitment
  • Drive definition and baselining of requirements, establish effective change control
  • Lead development of project delivery plans, ensuring full scope coverage
  • Prepare and maintain key project / change governance artefacts – including project plans, RAIDs logs, change logs, resource plans, test plans, cost tracking
  • Drive delivery against project plans - monitor project progress, proactively identify, analyse and resolve issues/ dependencies, ensuring knowledge sharing across jurisdictions and initiating corrective action as appropriate.
  • Ensure projects are implemented to the appropriate levels of quality, on time and within budget
  • Ensure adherence with all internal and external compliance and regulatory frameworks
  • Champion change awareness and change readiness amongst impacted business teams and stakeholder groups
  • Proactively invest in the personal and performance development of all members of your team
  • Report project status to the PMO and key stakeholders, escalating risks and issues on a timely basis.
  • Lead engagement with external vendor partners – linking with internal Apex departments to coordinate vendor selection, commercial negotiation, onboarding and governance, planning and oversight of their book of work
  • A high level of visibility within a large organisation on an upwards trajectory
  • Exposure to all aspects of the business, cross-jurisdiction
